We have chicks!

We have been pretty busy around here lately. All the snow has melted in our yard and in our neighborhood. The tulips and lilies are popping through the ground, and despite the rain I have already planted my peas.
Spring is creeping in... slowly but surely... and we welcome it with open arms! A couple weeks ago, we got seven baby chicks... all egg laying hens (eventually of coarse). They are so cute! We have 5 different breeds of chicks, so our chickens will be all different sizes and colors. Two of them will even lay blue and green eggs! Brandon is building them a coop in the back yard but until then, they live in the garage under a warming lamp.

Here Chicky chicky chicky!

Little fuzz balls! Can you believe... I don't think I can remember EVER seeing chicks until now!
It will be fun for Sammy this summer to have these chickens to chase around the yard.

Starting my garden

Brandon built me a "cold-frame" box on the south side of the house and I started a ton of seeds a couple of weeks ago. The plants are doing pretty good, at least as good as can be expected for our elevation. It has been super difficult to care for these transplants. I've had to move all of them in and out every night, so my kitchen has turned into a garden nursery:)

I may have gone a little overboard. I didn't expect to have such success with my tomato plants, so I started a ton of soil blocks. Now I have 80+ tomato plants- all doing fine! Yes I said eighty! Oops. I guess I will have a lot to give away!
I'm also growing cucumber, basil, lavender, chives, oregano, parsley, eggplant, and broccoli all from seed. I am so excited for my garden!

We have some news...

Surprise! We're pregnant again! We couldn't believe it either.
Here are the first ultrasound pictures of our second little monkey! Hopefully it's a girl:) I am about 12-14 weeks pregnant with a due date of October 3rd (give or take a couple of weeks). The baby was so active at our appointment- jumping all around like a mexican jumping bean. Active little bugger!

The Easter Bunny came for Sammy!

The Easter Bunny sure was good to Sammy! He got all sorts of goodies... and a little sugar high. We had a fun Easter. I made a big breakfast and we just hung around the house as a family. Check out the cute new Easter duds that Gigi and Pop send Sam. He looked sooooo- cute! Sammy is 15 months old now and he couldn't be doing better:)
